the old fish

the old fish is wise.

he is old and his flesh is soft.

it is said, he was the first to give his life so that we humans might live.

if you know an old fish you know he is skin and flesh.

he is old as time and gives life.

he is the first food served during our feasts.

as i cleanse myself in healing waters, i stare deep into the future.

i can see flesh glisten and glow.

little does the old fish know, he helps me grow.

up, down, side to side, moving all around he is my light and saber.

what a glorious day this has been.

cleansing in the healing waters of Lake Minnetonka.
