the art of fighting without fighting

this was really timely and posted by a Kaupapa Māori wahine. Aotearoa has some wisdom to share and it’s a beautiful way to start my morning and year.

i am leaving it in the format it was shared and just want to hold space for each thought because the art of fighting without fighting is one worth taking the time to learn and share.

as we begin the New Year, i been intentional and needed this to help understand what i have been processing and each point resonates.

she once asked a very successful woman to share her secret with her and the following is what shared.

“I started succeeding when I started leaving small fights for small fighters.
I stopped fighting those who gossiped about me…
I stopped fighting with my in laws…
I stopped fighting for attention…
I stopped fighting to meet public expectation of me…
I stopped fighting for my rights with stupid people..
I left such fights for those who have nothing else to fight…
And I started fighting for
my vision,
my dreams,
my ideas, and
my destiny.
The day I gave up on small fights is the day I started becoming successful.”
Big life lessons, some fights are not worth your time.
Choose what you fight for wisely.

in 2022, may this post remind me each time i forget there are fights not worth the time or day. choosing my battles so that they will be for my visions, dreams, ideas, and destiny.

starting 2022 off on a beautiful note, and feeling the gorgeous sparkle of life, knowing full and well, i am blessed to be here another day.

always thankful and grateful, i remain, indigenista love.
